Happy New Year all, I hope everyone's January is off to a good start.
Starting off the year strong, we have a couple of new features to share with you:
You can now assign work to users in Tumult. This goes for both items in the Engineering Queue, and specific operations in the Production Queue.
You can assign engineering work to a user right from the Engineering Queue: just select the user from the "Assignee" dropdown" on the relevant Work Order:
You can also assign each of a Work Order's operations to a user from the Production Queue. To do so, open a Work Order, click on the operation you want to assign, then select the user's name from the drop down:
You can now update a Work Order's due date from the production queue. To do so, open the Work Order and click on the calendar icon to the right of the due date:
One last update today, though it requires a little background.
For awhile now, we've been building towards the ability to track complicated part assemblies in Tumult. Instead of just being able to track a single part under a Work Order (e.g. "Table"), you'll be able to track the sub-component parts as well (e.g. "Table Legs", "Table Top").
We're hoping to have the first version of those "sub-component" parts to you in the next month. In the meantime, we continue to lay the foundation.
One key part of that is the ability to track parts that you purchase from suppliers. To continue our example, you may make the "table legs" in house and do the final assembly under your roof, but outsource the "table top" to a supplier.
To track supplier orders like that, we've add an "On Order" queue tab. Right now, you can specify if a Work Order is procured from a supplier, and it will be added to that queue upon release instead of the production queue.
In the future, you'll be able to select a "source" for each sub-component part, giving you the choice of releasing it to the Production or the On Order queue.
